Microsoft a récemment apporté une modification importante à la version web de son magasin d’applications Microsoft Store. Désormais, les utilisateurs ont la possibilité de télécharger directement les exécutables des applications sur leur PC Windows 10 ou Windows 11. Cette mise à jour vise à faciliter l’installation des applications à partir de la version web et à fluidifier le processus.
Auparavant, pour installer une application depuis la version web du Microsoft Store, les utilisateurs devaient cliquer sur le bouton “Installer”, puis sur “Ouvrir Microsoft Store” et enfin confirmer l’installation en cliquant sur “Installer”. Ce second bouton d’installation était prévu pour éviter toute installation automatique par des scripts potentiellement malveillants. Toutefois, les retours des utilisateurs ont indiqué que ce processus comportait trop de clics.
Télécharger l’exécutable d’une application du Microsoft Store
Afin de simplifier l’installation des applications depuis la version web, Microsoft a effectué des modifications pour réduire le nombre de clics nécessaires. Désormais, en cliquant simplement sur “Installer”, les utilisateurs obtiennent un package au format “.exe” contenant le code de l’application. Une fois le téléchargement terminé, il suffit de lancer cet exécutable pour installer l’application. Ainsi, le processus est passé de 3 à 2 clics, sans compromettre la sécurité, car Microsoft a pris les mesures nécessaires.
Cette évolution du Microsoft Store présente également l’avantage de simplifier le téléchargement des packages exécutables des applications disponibles sur la plateforme. Il devient ainsi plus facile de trouver et télécharger des paquets d’installation fiables à partir d’un seul endroit.
Augmentation du nombre d’installations via le Microsoft Store
La modification apportée par Microsoft vise également à augmenter le taux de conversion et le nombre d’installations effectuées à partir du Microsoft Store. Une enquête menée sur les 5 derniers mois a révélé des résultats positifs : en moyenne, cette nouvelle méthode d’installation a entraîné une augmentation de 12 % des installations et de 54 % du nombre d’applications lancées après l’installation.
Fort de ces résultats encourageants, Microsoft a décidé de rendre cette nouveauté disponible pour tous les utilisateurs de Windows 10 et Windows 11. Ainsi, il sera encore plus facile et rapide d’installer des applications à partir du Microsoft Store, tout en garantissant la sécurité des utilisateurs.
